We all, at one point or another, for one reason or another, feel stuck.

The feeling of being stuck in a rut or the feeling of not progressing is something that weighs down on us on occasion and is something that we need to overcome.

We sometimes feel stuck for too long because we either don’t have the awareness to realize this feeling can be overcome, or the cause of the feeling is perpetually getting in your way and you are not doing what needs to be done to overcome and conquer the reason behind the feeling.

I remember having this feeling too often and not knowing what to do.

The feeling was so constant, that I began to think about if this feeling existed, or was this just the way it was supposed to be.

The feeling of uncertainty and not doing enough weighed on me to the point where my happiness began to fade and I sunk into despair.

I knew that I did not want to be stuck in these feelings so I began to proactively seek ways to improve my mood and outlook.

Thankfully, after having discovered the feeling and the results the gym could provide, coupled with the personal development journey I found myself obsessed with, I began to feel unstuck.

The gym was a huge reason why my confidence levels, social status and belief system change for the better.

There’s something so relieving and fulfilling about setting goals for your fitness journey and beating them which adds clarity and certainty to all aspects of your life.

You begin to believe the process is duplicable and if you can beat your gym goals by working hard and being persistent, you can beat the goals you set for yourself in other areas of your life too.

The journey of personal growth and development also totally changed my perspective, ideologies, outlook and belief system.

As I began to dig deeper in the gym for strength and achievement as well as on my personal development quest to become the best version of myself, I began to realize that my belief system was the linchpin or the hinge to how I felt moment-by-moment.

My belief system was the cause to the effect of how I felt.

Moment-by-moment.

My belief system dictated how I felt.

After I became crystal clear and completely realized this fact to be true, my awareness instantly increased and I began to watch my thoughts and beliefs more diligently.

I began to get to know myself more and I began to stick up for myself more.

From who?

From me and my old belief system which sometimes tried to creep back into my head.

As I continued to see results, I continued to seek how I could improve my ability to believe in what’s possible.

Then I came across some information that struck me like a lighting bolt.

One of the great things about personal development is the ability to learn from the experience of others and by listening and learning from others, we all can avoid some mistakes and get a bit of a head start.

This is something that is widely available to everyone.

I learned that my beliefs dictate my thoughts, which dictate my emotions, which dictate my actions, which dictates my results and my results actually reinforce my original beliefs.

We are all caught in this construct and as I mentioned above, the linchpin or the hinge to how you feel is your belief system.

If you are at a point, where I was and you feel stuck and you want to learn how to change your belief system so that you can have the confidence to really fight for your dreams and destiny, this article will provide you with a step-by-step guide to change, start to take charge of and control your belief system.

Let’s start off by acknowledging the reason why so many people believe it is difficult to change their belief system is because their beliefs, by experience, are what is actually true.

Then how can we change our belief system to start to elevate our thinking and confidence levels?

We have to understand there are three areas of life to master if we want to start to change our belief system.

We need to master our mindset and thought process. We need to understand how to become more self-aware of the thoughts driving our thought process and how to change our thinking.

We need to master our emotional responses. The ability to know that we can define all situations and change the beliefs we give to experiences is a very powerful tool to change your state of being for the better.

We need to master our perceptions and use the tool available through personal growth to realize we have a choice in how we feel based on the meaning and belief we give situations.

It’s really hard to believe that for most of us, many of our emotional responses to people or situations are based on beliefs we have accumulated and experiences encountered before the age of 7.

Prior to 7 years old, the major parts of the pre-frontal cortex are not formed which makes it very easy to misinterpret beliefs or experiences as well as the opinions of others. If certain interactions are taken out of context, they can stay with us for long periods of time in our lives and can control our emotional responses throughout our lives. This in many people is their cause for the pattern of thinking that is hardwired into their brains. People get stuck by beliefs they decide to make, especially in their youth, which creates these loops hardwired into their brains. It’s easier for the brain to continue to have these thoughts and believe in these beliefs because after years of experience, it becomes the perceived truth.

To break away from this repetitive and negative thought and belief system, you have to understand there are only two emotional states you can decide to be in and you can only be in one of these states at a time.

You are either in the powerful state of being which is full of joy, creativity, happiness, energy and vitality or you are in the primal state of being which is full of fear, anxiety, sadness and uncertainty.

Just by the description alone, you can see which of these states would be better for your mental strength and abilities.

Remember, you are always in one of these two states and never in both states at the same time.

We are always in fight or flight or in rest and relaxation.

We are always in a sympathetic or in a parasympathetic state of being.

Whichever state of being you decide to be in is in your control based on the meaning you give experiences in your life, the meaning you give over the things you encounter and the meaning toy give to the things that happen to you.

Start to notice on a moment-by-moment basis what state of being you are in and start to shift to a powerful state.

It is only within a powerful state of being that you can be productive and progress forward. It is only within a powerful state of being that you can focus on your goals and move in a direction to achieve them. It is only within a powerful state of being that health operates naturally. It is very difficult to do any productive activity with success within a primal state.

So how can you move from a primal to a powerful state?

You have to realize that the quality of your thinking which puts you or keeps you in a primal state is simply not true.

You are good enough, you can achieve your goals, you are not running out of time and to think the contrary will keep you in a primal state and away from the vision you have for your future.

Let’s look at an example.

Think of the last time you felt anxious or overly concerned about something, anything.

The moment you decided to start to feel anxious or concerned, you moved into a primal state of operating and we all know within this state, nothing good can really be accomplished.

So what should you do?

You have to actually start to observe your thinking and look at your thinking that caused the anxiety or concern and realize you are simply giving the reason for the anxiety or concern a meaning.

You are giving the experience a meaning.

Try to give the experience a different meaning and realize the reason for the anxiety or concern is simply not true and therefore the opposite must be true.

This will start the shift of your beliefs into a powerful state which can literally turn you into a whole new person.

Change the story you tell yourself about the experience and you can change your state of being.

This is the fastest way to eradicate yourself of any limiting belief.

This shift cannot be unseen and it starts a re-organization in your brain. Once you see the lie as a lie, the shift begins and your brain re-orientates itself to all experiences in life including relationships, money, self-confidence and anything you thought was once impossible. This fundamental re-orientation to experiences in life is the deepest, fastest and most permanent way to move through the crazy unreality of limiting beliefs and into a powerful state of operating.

This is a higher level of self-awareness and with practice, you can start to implement this belief system in your life, moment-by-moment.

This all speak to an even deeper sense of who we are and what we are capable of.

That what we pay the most attention to, is what we believe and what we get.

If you want deeper relationships, more joy, more happiness, more money, a healthier lifestyle, the opportunity to achieve your full potential and to make an impact, you must get clear on what that can look like for you.

What you believe in must be congruent with your desired outcome, this is clarity.

Most people know what they do not want but now what they do want.

We need to become clear on all facets of life.

This is a very important point because when we get clear on our goals we start to build neural networks in the brain as if that clear imagination in our brain, is reality. The more we become clear and through the process of repetition, believing what we become clear about, our brains from a theoretical perspective can be convinced that what we become clear about, is reality.

This is how powerful the concept of getting clear on your goals and your visions really is.

It is the starting point to remove all limiting beliefs from your life.

So much so that when you are starting a new journey you often don’t have all the answers and just because you don’t know how to achieve something doesn’t mean you should stop getting the clarity you need to move forward.

By not knowing how to proceed, you need to get clarity on the next steps you need to make. These micro steps forward lead to massive macro improvements.

Actually spending the time you need to become clear, overtime and with repetition you actually build new neural networks in the brain. This helps overcome the hurdles and challenges you will encounter by making the big tasks seem small. You’ve become clear on it. You’ve repeatedly became clear on the task at hand. You know how to get there.

So often people let not knowing how to proceed prevent them from spending the time necessary to become clear on their objectives.

The fact is, you need to go through the process of getting clarity and imaging your visions because that is how to truly understand what the next steps to take are.

It’s like driving through fog. You move ahead 10 feet at a time. As you get more clarity on the road ahead, you move forward.

This all leads to the indecision some face when trying to overcome their limiting beliefs so they actually can move 10 feet at a time.

The thinking to move you needs to come from a powerful state of being.

You need to ask yourself, what is the thinking which is causing your negative emotional reaction, which is most often fear?

You need to realize that his thinking is caused by activating neural networks of negative past experiences, which are not true.

This is when you can start to give new meanings to experiences and untether yourself from addictive negative thought patterns and behaviors.

This is when you can move into a powerful state and realize that your emotional responses dictate your thoughts and beliefs and not the actual event.

Give yourself permission to have these new experiences and stop believing and reacting to events like you once did.

If you are afraid of heights, start to understand where this fear came from. How did you become afraid of heights or is your emotional response, which is fear, based on events or words said which are simply not true? If your emotional response is based on a false premise, the opposite must be true.

This is the journey you will have to walk to learn that you are not actually afraid of heights and you can conquer any situation where heights are involved.

This may seem like a daunting task but it can actually be simple.

Your beliefs dictate the quality of your life so take the time to master how to control them.

Practice so you can quickly re-orientate yourself and your thinking and believe me, there will be plenty of time to practice because the goal is to, on a moment-by-moment basis assess what state you’re in and do whatever possible to move back into a powerful state of being.

If you’ve moved into a primal state, observe the thinking to see what really put you there? Explore the thinking enough to realize it is not true since it actually put you in a primal state.

Do this over and over and over and over again.

This is how you can practice this belief system on a moment-by-moment basis.

Also try to supplement this belief system with proper nutrition, exercise and a healthy lifestyle which will only strengthen your body as you strengthen your mind.

Now how can we practice what we are talking about here because in the practice of this belief system is where your life can really change.

What I do when I get triggered by anything to revert to a primal state, be it get frustrated at a situation, have an issue with someone, lose confidence in myself and have fear take over, the first thing I do is actually look at the thinking that I currently believe in. I notice that I have entered a primal state.

The next thing I do is look at what put me in that state. What thoughts put me into that sympathetic and primal state?

I actually look at the thinking. I concentrate on the actual thoughts that I’m thinking. I isolate those thoughts and think of nothing else. I examine the thoughts, which is the only way I can really dissect them.

I then realize the thoughts I’m having is what put me into a primal and sympathetic state not any actions. If fear is what put me into that primal state I give a new meaning to the experience that caused the fear. If the fear of heights put me into a primal state and I think the worst and believe I am not good enough for the climb or something bad will happen, I automatically give a new meaning to the experience and start to believe and convince myself the experience dealing with heights will empower me and give me confidence. I start to look at the situation as a way to improve my skills and add to my abilities. I develop a keen sense of awareness to the situation and believe it will add value to my life.

Since the fear that took over my thought process was not justified and was untrue and the opposite must be true.

I then start to think of and recall evidence which will support the fact that I can climb safely and I can get over this situation and I do have the experience to prevail and I have worked hard to achieve my goals, all evidence which will put me back into a powerful state of being.

We all deserve to operate from a powerful state of being.

This is the only state in which your goals can be accomplished and you can live a happy life.

Practice the formula above and before you know it, you won’t even be thinking about the steps involved.

Your conscious will simply examine the state you’re in and work to revert back to a powerful state.

Moment-by-moment we have the control and ability to be present and powerful.

Choose to be powerful and overcome any limiting belief.
